I have recently been struggling to find ideas for finger foods for my daughter, she hasn't quite mastered chewing and putting it in her mouth slowly and not all at once.
So I wanted to make something that was easy to chew and soft in texture that she could hold and pick up easily.
I decided to make her an omelette, I had tried her with eggs before so I knew she wasn't allergic to them and this is how I made it;
1 egg
1 chestnut mushroom
Drizzle of oil
- I heated up a frying pan and added a small amount of oil
- Washed the mushroom and diced into small pieces and added them to the pan to cook off
- When the mushrooms were cooked I whisked the egg into a bowl and poured it in the pan
- Then flipped the omelette over to make sure it was properly cooked all the way through
Once it had cooled down I cut it into small strips so that she could easily hold them. She did so well and ate almost all of the omelette and by herself which was the main point of it all so she develops and learns to feed herself.
So I think that was a success! She has had this a few more times and has enjoyed it so much, now I must try and think of different flavours of omelettes or finger foods...
