Rom-com I was expecting and rom-com is what I got!
We wanted to watch something fairly lighthearted and I personally find this type of genre the easiest to watch especially after a busy day of being a mum, cook and cleaner (all in a days work eh mums!)
The IMDB storyline reads as follows 'Thinking they're about to crash, Emma spills her secrets to a stranger on a plane. At least, she thought he was a stranger...Until she later meets Jack, her company's young CEO, who now knows every humiliating detail about her.'
Great, I can see where this is going straight away but that's what like.
There were funny moments for sure but sometimes the parts that should be funny were actually a bit cringeworthy, and was more of an eyebrow raise. Connor (David Ebert) and Gemma (Kimiko Green) for me had some of the funniest lines and found them quite funny.
The romance in the film was half there and half not, there wasn't much chemistry between the two characters at times. Of course there are the main declarations of love which were your usual scene settings and outcomes, however forgiving Jack so easily almost instantly seemed a bit rushed in the story after all Emma was so hurt...it appears not.
It was your typical rom-com, the acting could have been a little better and maybe it should have been a longer film so certain elements of the storyline weren't rushed. However, I would watch it again but there are other rom-coms I would chose over this to watch again first.
